Reflection

Screen Shot 2023-10-05 at 11.42.33 AM.png

There have been many changes in my level of learning; this master's degree has been something innovative. I never thought I would learn so much quickly, and I know what I am missing. This has been a critical process for me. At first, I had many fears, but now I realize that I am motivated to continue moving forward, and I am excited to start sharing these new skills with my students; in particular, it has changed how I see the world.

Learning for me is very important to grow professionally and personally. I have developed my skills, my decision-making, overcoming my fears, and above all, it helps me be a better person, professionally and daily.

The benefits of learning are countless, ranging from the feeling of seeing our abilities and strengths to achieving our goals and objectives.

I am excited to begin sharing these new skills with my students.

My Growth Mindset Plan  has changed the way I view challenges and setbacks. I have applied this in all areas of my life. When I started this master's degree, I thought I would not achieve it; it was tough, but now I see and say I am achieving it. I am practically halfway done, I have learned to develop my capabilities and skills. I have changed my fixed mindset because before, I had many fears of failure and saw it as a sign of weakness. I have changed my growth mindset, and I am no longer afraid of failure because I know that I can learn from it and improve my performance, and I know that I can achieve success to meet my objectives and goals in this master's degree.

I have accepted challenges, I will fight against adversity, I will learn from criticism, and I will find inspiration in the success of others. And as a consequence, I will be successful.

I plan to implement a growth mindset in my classroom this school year.I will give my students words of affirmation when faced with challenges and to stay motivated to improve their skills. Instead of thinking, “I can't do this,” they think, “I can't do it yet.” That is, you can do it, you can do it, and if it is possible.

I have sometimes felt like I would never improve at something or was destined to fail at specific tasks. But like many of us, I thought facing obstacles and failing was a terrible thing.

Making mistakes has allowed me to experience humility. I have realized I am not invincible: I have flaws and defects like anyone. This may sound like a negative thing, but in moderation, it can be a good thing. I can see failure as part of my learning. Therefore, I am still working; when I face failures, they mold me to bring out the best in me and be a better person. Now, with my growth mindset, I accept challenges despite the risk, I fight against adversity, I will learn from criticism, and achieve my objectives and goals.

Incorporating COVA  learning processes in my students allows me to direct group and individual improvement strategies. According to institutional interests, we can manage the tools to analyze processes of improvement in the skills of my students in the classroom. My Learning Manifesto is focused on my students working at their own pace; they focus on seeing their abilities and failures and see in which area they should work more to achieve their objectives and goals. COVA requires that I take ownership of my learning to hear my voice in the process of renewing, improving, evaluating, and presenting my learning.

Collaborative work is a type of work in which a group of people collaborate to achieve a common goal. This system is based on interaction and cooperation. As the term indicates, it is about working together with other communities where we share the same position and dedication that are part of teachers' daily work. My professional learning networks are a particular type of community of practice. They have helped me improve processes within the classroom through reflection and criticism. They have helped me grow and become a better teacher, leader, and student.

Professional learning networks  have helped me strengthen myself in the development and improvement of personal and institutional potential in various educational aspects and topics. Generate and energize a space for communication and exchange between educational institutions, teachers, and other education professionals. They have expanded my circle of acquaintances, learned about job opportunities, and increased my knowledge of news and trends in the fields of learning.

Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset-1.jpg

The growth mindset has significantly changed my life to improve my learning. You have established a positive outlook that is possible with hard work and dedication.

In this course, this mentality is growing. I have learned a lot and acquired a lot of knowledge in many things, such as creating my electronic portfolio and Zoom meetings. I have read to write a lot again and know how to write.

In this learning feedback process, which I entered with a lot of confusion, now I look back and say that I achieved the first stage of this great vision, a great goal, ideas, projects, tools, and much learning and knowledge.

The plan is to document my experience implementing a growth mindset plan in my school district.

As a teacher, I have realized the importance of using a growth mindset to foster a love of learning in students. Teachers can positively impact the lives of our students and help them achieve their goals and objectives. They become learners using technological resources to strengthen their knowledge and skills. Bringing a growth mindset to the school helps students, staff, and administration develop to meet objectives and goals throughout their lives.

I have a lot to give my students for this new school year, looking at the process behind the implementation and my continued effort to embed a growth mindset in my classroom through daily, weekly, and monthly routines. As I move forward, I plan to adopt a growth mindset in all areas of my life.

I'm still learning; I give my best one day at a time. The tools I have acquired in this course have made me change my mind on a learning and personal level; I want to continue learning to meet my goals and objectives.

IMPORTANCE OF THE GROWTH MINDSET

The growth mindset is an essential factor for success in the life of human beings. The growth mindset refers to the understanding that people see their talents and abilities growing as a determined effort is made. This contradicts a fixed mindset, which is the belief that our abilities are already set and cannot change (Dweck, 2006, Chapter 1). Mindset scholars have discovered that people have a mix of mindsets; for some things, we are fixed, and for others, we believe in mental growth (Dweck, 2015, p. 3).

FIXED MINDSET

The fixed mindset is when we think that we may not be able to do something or we do something that doesn't work out the way we want in any area of our lives. We avoid challenges, we often give up easily, we see that our efforts are fruitless, and many times, we feel threatened by the success of others.

GROWTH MINDSET

The growth mindset helps to see that much more can be done. When they look for a way to get ahead with effort and develop new skills to achieve future goals, they fight to achieve the objectives.

The power of still is implicit and lets you know you can improve; isn't that a great way to live life? If you keep working on what you want to achieve to improve the results, it increases the chances that one day you will achieve it. You still need to do it.

Upon completing my studies in June 2010, I began my plan to share and support the growth mindset with my students and parents as I pondered the best approach to introduce this mindset to my students.

I tell my parents and students that I seek growth, which is my classroom atmosphere. I tell my students they will do well and let them know their importance. I make no distinction with them; I speak to them as if success belonged to everyone.

I focus on growth and have my students do the same. I tell them every day that if someone is missing to complete a task, they just haven't mastered this skill "yet." It has been so influential in my classroom.

When I watched the video "Developing a Growth Mindset" (2014), I was blown away when Dweck showed the illustration of how the brain was "on fire" with "YET!" The brain loves "yet" too! The word "still" creates a feeling of confidence in a person. It lets you know that even if you have “yet” to be successful with this skill or challenge, you can still do it. You still learn, grow, and progress. You just haven't done it "yet."

When it comes to digital innovation, the power of still is that we need to confront others with why it should be done and give them a higher purpose.

In many cases, this is the real world, and the work you do today will determine your outcome in the future. In my original plan, I talked about how my campus was trying to focus on positivity so students would stay motivated in their small groups or station rotations. I still have work to do to fully implement my plan, such as reminding my students how to use the work and helping them reflect on their progress in small groups. When I was walking to my class, I saw students asking thoughtful questions, so we were on the right track.

At Thompson Elementary, many changes are needed to help students reach their full potential. The principal always says the “power of yet” when presenting any plans, so I feel confident that I can work through the professional development course I have designed to align with my Plan to Offer Time, which is to intentionally create a meaningful learning environment using two-way dual language with blended learning station rotation.

The growth mindset is a personal journey; I am just beginning. starting this master's degree has been my main objective and is a fundamental factor in my life. However, it was part of my fixed mentality; I had many excuses to start, fear and lack of time. I am now determined to apply the growth mindset by overcoming challenges using my talents and abilities to grow as I work with determination to focus less on the idea of "how can it work" and more on the concept of "how can I make this work." it works." Brock and Hundley (2016) mentioned one of the monthly mantras: "Feedback is a gift—accept it."

I look forward to receiving feedback from my teachers and peers and using it to help me grow as an educator and learner. To achieve my goals and goals.

Learning Manifesto

Learning Manifesto-1.jpg

My Passion

Learning Manifesto-2.jpg
What I will say next is natural and very simple; we can only teach with passion when we do what we do with love and dedication to impart and transmit teachings. As a teacher, I have the same passion for learning and improving my mentality every day. of growth.

I inject passion into everything I do and enjoy it in every learning process I transmit to my students. I do everything with love, am passionate about teaching, and enjoy transmitting the constant learning process to my students.

“Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers is transformative.” –George Couras

To have optimal learning, we have to start with the personal commitment born from a set of standards. Through continuous evaluation of results, experience in learning projects can optimize the use of the student's time, individualize the knowledge of efficient participation in existing needs, optimize practice, and adjust everything learned.

Emerging Issues

Learning Manifesto-3.jpg
Through our experiences, we must go beyond typical learning; the time has come to sow values and characteristics. As a teacher, I help awaken motivation for school and meaningful learning that has significance for the lives of my students. May the center of their learning be in themselves, that they learn in a fun way and move forward according to their own needs and constant learning.

The learning stations blended in-person and in the bidirectional dual station rotation I included in My Innovation Proposal constitute an ideal strategy to promote educational inclusion within the classroom. Students work at their own pace, in centers of interest, reinforcing the topics in various ways. Teamwork promotes camaraderie and cooperation. We teachers are guides for our students; they are autonomous protagonists of their learning, integration, and exploration of the world around them, which makes them authentic.

This characteristic addresses adapting traditional school themes such as reading, writing, and mathematics. These subjects are best understood with multimedia materials prepared in a digital environment. Furthermore, due to how they are presented, they can be easily related to global problems and topics of general interest to raise awareness.

Technology can negatively impact children's social development and skills, relationships, health, and overall concentration ability. developing their social skills. This can cause more children to be socially awkward, withdrawn, shy, or intimidated by social situations.

Finally, the benefit of developing problem-solving skills is evident in using technologies in learning. This simultaneously develops computational thinking, enabling understanding of programs and working fluidly in the digital environment.

It is essential to highlight that each part of this COVA model is important because it plays an influential role in learning and teaching. In my classroom, the state of Texas has a pre-established curriculum to follow, indicating what I should teach; my district generates the curriculum to develop it but allows teachers to combine strategies for students with the COVA method. and choose, have the decision and autonomy to teach, and assign activities.

Innovation Proposal is to integrate the students into the training process; the students are grouped at the stations and work in small groups so that the teacher or trainer can pay more attention to each student and guide them better. The teacher can plan dynamic sessions that more effectively address an individual student's or entire group's specific learning needs. If individualized learning stations are incorporated, the trainer can personally and directly assist the student.

Until the TEE administration accepts my proposal, I must enjoy and take advantage of my current situation. I know that I cannot control the standards, the assessment tools I must use, or the frequency of administration; these are outside my circle of influence. However, I can prevent the learning experiences I plan for my students. I can design practical learning. I can give them to my students and give them options.

I can meet my students where they are and focus on helping them develop and act on a growth mindset, looking at My Growth Mindset plan and the resources I've put together.

Achievements and Improvements

Learning Manifesto-4.jpg
Early childhood education must develop students' phonemic awareness, phonics skills, print knowledge, reading comprehension skills, and the world around them through social studies. Some students' interests and personal preparation lead to more excellent learning, hence the interest in taking my students to a blended two-way dual-language learning model.

However, that is not the case, and I still see resistance to implementation and change. However, as I continue to drive my innovation plan and with management support, I hope that more of my environment will adapt to a growth mindset and grow in technology and digital innovation. This will be necessary to continue the transformation of education. Grow in technology and digital innovation. This will be necessary to continue the transformation of education.

Change and innovation in learning are a necessity to adapt in education. Technology has opened more doors, and different students have different needs. Technology has opened more doors. Innovation and Technology is a way to personalize education for these different needs. It allows you to move from traditional teaching and learning to a more innovative and student-centered one.

Learning technology goes beyond using a computer to plan a lesson. I use programs and generate interactions with my students so that technological learning is practical, can be put into practice, and, at the same time, evaluate knowledge. This way, a school program is fulfilled, and work is done to see the skills.

Active learning includes motivated and challenging activities aimed at deepening knowledge. It develops search, analysis, and synthesis of information skills in students and promotes active adaptation to problem-solving. Technology has impacted society. We all know that today, Every day, we receive more and more information. and many times, we need to process it better; it is not used correctly. However, human beings have a limited capacity to consume this information, so it will be increasingly essential to discriminate between what is valuable from what is not in the shortest possible time. With the specific characteristics already mentioned, we think the Web can be an absorbing medium for students to approach their knowledge development if it is used with an approach far beyond “downloading poorly processed information.”

With the presence of families, teachers, and students, the objective of this meeting was “raising awareness and practice towards a new way of teaching and learning, in the face of a changing world, a different student profile and a professional future of uncertainty where of prioritizing the flexibility and adaptability of the people we educate,” as pointed out by the organization itself.

The Manifesto is a decalogue that contains “the main ideas about what we value, where we come from, and what we commit to doing in our daily lives,” they noted.

What is right and what is wrong in education

There needs to be a more robust situation in the recruitment shortage of qualified teachers.

Every year, the number of teacher candidates globally decreases. U.S. Schools face this problem because the certifications vary from state to state. Therefore, hiring a teacher out of state is more complex than hiring a local teacher.

Schools exceed their capacity. At a time when children need more attention than ever to succeed, overcrowded classrooms make it even more difficult for teachers to learn and be effective. Parents are not involved enough.

Lack of innovation in teacher training It is logical that if students are changing, teachers must also change. More specifically, it is time to modify teacher education to reflect the demands of modern K-12 classrooms. Policy and practice changes (many driven by teachers) that address cultural shifts in the classroom are occurring worldwide.

We need to consider how school safety measures affect students. In theory, parents and educators would do anything to keep students safe. Nothing is too extravagant or over the top regarding protecting our children and young people. Metal detectors, security cameras, increased police presence in school hallways, and locked campuses – all contribute to the ultimate goal of protecting students and their educators, protecting some of our most vulnerable citizens. Perhaps the best investment we can make to save our students and educators is personal vigilance. Maybe Less dependence on so-called security measures would lead to a more excellent state of alert.

Digital Core Beliefs
Learning Manifesto-5.jpg
Given society's current conditions and perspectives towards the future, education is necessary where skills are developed and not just a set of knowledge. A process is required to “prepare for life” and the different situations humans must face. Education must create mechanisms so that the student is interested in actively participating in his or her growth and development. But it is also necessary to create awareness about the priority that education should have as a means for the development of a country, so the investment made in it must be considerable and “real” to overcome the difficulties that have affected this. in different countries and for several years.

Educational institutions must be the space with the necessary and minimum conditions for adequate educational process development (infrastructure, resources, among others). For this reason, it must generate education requirements for this to occur (meet the needs and expectations of students, adapt to the context, explicit norms and rules of conduct and learning, among others) and guarantee access and equity throughout the process.

An urgent measure must be taken to make a more significant investment in education. At the same time, this investment must be accompanied by efficient and effective administration by its governing entities to meet priority needs and not waste on “ghost” programs. Along with these actions, the conditions of the student's pedagogical environment must be improved, providing classrooms with better and more significant resources to support learning, without which a modern, quality education is impossible.

Teacher preparation is another task that must be addressed. It can't be done to continue training teachers to teach in “ideal” classrooms. For this reason, rethinking these processes is required, which must be oriented towards training a teacher capable of addressing the different needs of individuals, their diversity, and social, economic, and cultural contexts.

Education must be engaging, “real,” functional, and attractive to students. In this way, education would not only provide training for a “specific task.” Still, it would also be oriented toward developing skills and problem-solving, giving the individual the skills to “learn and reinvent themselves on the fly.”

Future citizens must be trained to “face” a complex totality. The image of a fragmented society, fragmented knowledge, and isolated knowledge does not “fit” within this new vision. Thus, the student must be considered from his or her perspective as a product of historical and natural development.

But the education of the future must also be oriented towards the formation of values, of an individual capable of facing different difficulties and solving problems, of a more “human” being with environmental awareness.

Furthermore, it should be taken into account that adopting new information technologies can provide the opportunity to redesign all the administrative processes of the educational institution.

Contrary to what one might initially think, technological development only facilitates teaching work a priori but somewhat complicates it. Because? For educational applications of technology to produce true impact, they must come with added value from the teacher, with analysis and prior research.

Incorporating technology in education is an opportunity for research to overcome problems and represents a significant challenge for educational institutions, teachers, and students.

Professional learning networks

Collaboration has been an essential part and has improved the way I work. I am new as a teacher, and it has helped me solve many problems. Teamwork occurs when people with complementary skills work together on projects or tasks in a way that is genuinely connected and collected. The difference between collaboration and teamwork lies in shared responsibility and joint effort; this leads to efficient processes, tremendous success, and better communication. You can help each other achieve your goals by listening and learning from team members. Take advantage of the benefits of joining networks in my workplace, in my place of study, in my community, and the staff.
